weekly date tip

Weekly Tip #4 ~ Dance, Dance, Dance

Preparation:
Schedule a date this week for when you'll have 15 - 30 uninterrupted minutes together. Make the date and KEEP it no matter how tired you are. This is the first step to reconnecting . . .

The Date:
Think about the music you listened to while you were dating before marriage. After the kids are asleep, turn on the tunes from your early days and dance. Sound silly? Au contraire you stuffed shirts! Remembering those first dances reminds us of simpler times when our main focus was each each other. It didn't matter how well we danced. So, in the middle of your living room or bedroom or wherever you have some space and music available, dance . . . slow, fast, together, separately . . . whatever sounds good. Have fun and eegads . . . be silly! Our kids think it's a typical behavior for parents to dance all over the house. It's a gift we give to them to see us enjoying life and smiling at each other like teenagers.

Time Involved:
Spend at least 15 minutes, preferably 30 or more.

Cost:
Absolutely nothing!

Follow-up:
How did it go? Did you enjoy the time together? Did you keep the date? Did you step on any toes? Have you scheduled time for next week?

See you next week!
