Weekly Tip #5 ~ Foot Massage

Preparation:
Schedule a date this week for when you'll have 15 - 30 uninterrupted minutes together. Make the date and KEEP it no matter how tired you are. This is the first step to reconnecting . . .

The Date:
A foot massage can be a very loving gift to give your spouse. Grab a pan of hot soapy water and let your spouse soak his/her feet while you gather your supplies - clean towels, favorite foot lotion, and mood music. When your spouse's feet are nice and pruned, gather a foot in your lap, slather on the lotion and rub. Don't forget to rub between the toes and each toe as well. Really coat those rough heels and work it in. Work in a circular motion on the pads of the foot; it feels so good! Rub and massage and work your spouse's stress away! While you're rubbing, focus on how good it feels to be touching your spouse (even if it's just a foot!). If you have time, let your spouse return the favor. This simple gift is very loving and feels oh so good!

If you have the time and inclination, what about adding a pedicure? Even men's toenails need clipping. It can be very sensual for a husband to paint his wife's toenails. Remember the classic scene from Bull Durham?

Time Involved:
Spend at least 15 minutes, preferably 30 or more.

Cost:
Absolutely nothing unless you want to purchase some foot bath or special foot lotion.

Follow-up:
How did it go? Did you enjoy the time together? Did you keep the date? Have you scheduled time for next week?

See you next week!
