Weekly Tip #7 ~ Schedule Night

Preparation:
Schedule a date this week for when you'll have at least 30 uninterrupted minutes together. Make the date and KEEP it no matter how tired you are. This is the first step to reconnecting . . .

Find a big calendar and a few markers. If you have a daytimer or schedule, each of you needs to bring that to your date.

The Date:
This may not sound like the most romantic date, but it can be. With your big calendar and markers, schedule some dates for the next 30 days. It's Spring, everyone is busy, so plan NOW for time together.

Sit at your kitchen table, living room coffee table - wherever you're the most comfortable. Grab a glass (cup) of your favorite beverage and snack. Relax, thinking creatively and start making some dates!

If you wish to plan something that requires a babysitter, circle that date in red and decide now who is to find and schedule the babysitter. Think about what sounds wonderful (night out to the movies, dinner, dancing . . . or time at home alone) and schedule it in permanent marker now. Check your schedules (daytimers, etc) for free nights and make your dates on your own date calendar. Just thinking about your future dates can be romantic and exciting.

Time Involved:
Spend at least 15 minutes, preferably 30 or more.

Cost:
Nothing unless you need to buy a separate calendar (and this is a good idea!). A few drinks and snacks can be purchased ahead of time.

Follow-up:
How did it go? Did you enjoy the time together? Did you keep the date? Have you scheduled time for next week (next month)?

See you next week!
