Weekly Tip #9 ~ New Year's Resolutions
Preparation:
With New Year's around the corner, now is a good time to make a date and talk to your partner about your dreams and hopes for the new year. Talk about the good points of 2003 and what your goals are as an individual, as a couple, and a family are for 2004. Enjoy this time and have fun planning for the new year. Plan the time and beforehand, think about your goals and write them down.
The Date:
Plan a time when you can have quality uninterrupted time. If you have a fireplace, start a fire. Light some candles, grab a glass of your favorite beverage, and get cozy in front of the fire and/or candles. If you made a list of your goals and resolutions, have them ready. Take turns sharing your lists . . . your goals and dreams for the new year. Enjoy each other's company and touch . . . and the sound of the excitement in each other's voice as you share your desires for the new year.
Time Involved:
Planning time is simply jotting down your goals and resolutions. If you need a log for your fire, you'll need to purchase one. The date should take at least 30 minutes of quality uninterrupted time.
Cost:
The cost of the date is minimal unless you buy expensive drinks or hors d'oeuvres.
Follow-up:
How did it go? Did you enjoy the time together? Did you keep the date? Have you scheduled time for next week? We hope so!
See you next week!
